  • Chairman - Ron Robson

    Chairman

    Ron Robson

    Ron is a Managing Director in the Tavistock Group, a Global private investment organisation, and Chief Executive of Ultimate Finance Group – a Tavistock investee that provides funding to SME businesses in the UK.  He is also Deputy Chairman of Mitchells & Butlers plc, a FTSE 250 group that is the UK’s largest owner of managed pubs and restaurants and a Non-Executive Director of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He trained with Arthur Andersen and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Ron has held a number of senior finance roles in both public and private companies and has particular experience in the financial, leisure, real estate and logistics sectors.

    Managing director

    Shaun Purrington

    Working as a trusted partner, Shaun has helped some of the UK’s largest and well-known companies extract exceptional value from the credit insurance markets. An experienced credit management professional, he has held senior executive level positions with international credit insurance companies, brokers and credit management service providers. Shaun was previously Chairman of the ABI’s Trade Credit Committee and currently sits on the Advisory Council of the International Credit and Trade Finance Association – ICTF

  • Finance Director - Neil McMyn

    Finance Director

    Neil McMyn

    Neil is Chief Financial Officer of Tavistock Group’s European Investment Portfolio and of Ultimate Finance Group – a Tavistock investment that provides funding to SME businesses in the UK. A chartered accountant, Neil previously spent nine years with Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance in Edinburgh and six years in advisory and funds management roles at Westpac Institutional Bank in Sydney.

    Neil has considerable experience of financial services and of listed companies including being non-Executive Director of DCD Media plc since September 2012.

    Polly Russell-Stower

    Polly is the Legal and Compliance Officer for Avenue and Group General Counsel for Ultimate Finance Group.

  • Business Development Manager - Corran Barnes

    Business Development Manager

    Corran Barnes

    Another member of the team with both underwriting and broking experience, Corran joined Avenue’s Manchester Office in January 2018 to head up our commercial activities in the North of England. Prior to joining, Corran was Sales Director for a regional general insurance broker having previously worked for ‘Big 3’ credit insurer, Coface.

    Corran has particular expertise in placing credit risks originating within the recruitment, technology and invoice finance sectors. He has also been instrumental in bringing innovative new products and solutions to the attention of Avenue’s extensive network of introducers and clients.

    Karl Hague

    Karl joined Avenue’s London office in November 2017 to lead our commercial activities in the South East of England. An experienced credit management professional, he prides himself on his ability to understand the precise needs of both new and existing users of credit insurance and then present them in a structured way to the insurers. Prior to joining Avenue, Karl worked eight years for a leading debt collection agency and prior to that he spent four years at Euler Hermes, the world’s largest credit insurer. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management.

    Paul Jackson

    Paul joined Avenue’s Manchester Office in July 2018 with a remit to deliver the best possible service to our clients across the take-on, in-life servicing and claims management process. Paul is an experienced credit insurance broker and client service professional with nearly 20 years of knowledge gained in a variety of different broking operations.


    Paul prides himself on his relationship with insurers and clients alike and works hard to make sure the three way relationship between broker, client and insurer evolves successfully over the term of the relationship in all areas.

    Nicola Woolnough

    Nicola joined Avenue at the beginning of our journey and has provided the expertise and experience behind our business processes and systems which form the operational ‘glue’ to deliver the very best level of service to our clients, introducers and insurers. 

    Nicola started her career in the commercial risks market and has previously held operational roles in several blue-chip organisations spanning different sectors of the economy. Her role as Commercial Assistant brings her into contact with clients where she supports them with credit limit applications, overdue reporting and other policy related tasks.

    Our fact-finding process covers your motivation for purchasing insurance, such as protecting your balance sheet from unexpected credit losses, facilitating access to trade finance, access to information or to out-source part or all of your credit management function.

    We analyse your sales ledger and credit management procedures to establish the optimum price and risk sharing parameters and to size the amount of credit capacity required from the insurance markets.

  • 2. Detail

    Fully understanding your business and insurance objectives, we plan your tailored insurance purchasing strategy.

    Unlike some brokers who only work with preferred insurers, Avenue conducts a comprehensive review of the whole market on your behalf.

  • 3. Decision Support

    We compare and contrast all your options and present the findings to you in a clear and transparent way, preferably face to face.

  • 4. Delivery

    Avenue believes in close co-operation between the insured, the insurer and the broker. We promise to pro-actively ‘add value’ by facilitating dialogue, documenting rules of engagement between the parties and sharing key information- but never get in the way or slow things down.
